Celebrate Constitution Week with DAR and Enid Public Library
September 10, 2025
The Enid Public Library, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and First Church Enid invite the community to take part in Constitution Week celebrations this September.
As part of Constitution Week, observed Sept. 17–23, the annual “Bells Across America” ceremony takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. in the First Church Enid parking lot, 509 W. Randolph Ave. The event commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787, with communities across the country ringing bells simultaneously in recognition of the nation’s founding document and the freedoms it guarantees.
As part of the local celebration, the DAR will also present a special program at the Enid Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m. The in-library event will focus on the history of the Constitution and its role in American society.
“The library is proud to partner with the Daughters of the American Revolution to celebrate the U.S. Constitution,” said Library Director Theri Ray. “The annual tradition of the bell ringing ceremony and the educational presentation in the library are part of the library’s commitment to civic education.”
Both events are free and open to the public. Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend. For more information, visit enid.okpls.org or contact the library at 580-234-6313 or publiclibrary@enid.org.
